Question by drawingmadness: What is the cost for the domain name deal the second year?
I am interested in getting the Domain name deal from Yahoo for 1.99 for the first year but ,what is the cost for every year there after?

Best answer:

Answer by DNfer
here is what I got from the yahoo website itself. it says after the term expires its 34.95/year, which is bit worrying. may be you can transfer your domain to another register after the term but its a hassel.

“1-year term: $ 1.99 (special discount for new customers only)
2-year term: $ 11.94 ($ 1.99 for your first year, $ 9.95 for your second year)
3-year term: $ 21.89 ($ 1.99 for your first year, $ 9.95 for your next two years)
5-year term: $ 41.79 ($ 1.99 for your first year, $ 9.95 for your next four years)
After term expires: $ 34.95/year (only annual terms available after initial term expires)”

would recommend goDaddy which is just $ 10 per year

you can find goDaddy coupons in the below web page which allows you to register domain at only $ 7 per year

Question by : Can anyone recommend companies that wont “steal” your domain search names while you are researching them?
Can anyone recommend companies that you know for sure won’t steal your domain names searches or sell your searches to 3rd parties, while you are trying out different keywords for your possible domain names? Some companies sell your search data to third parties. Does anyone use a search or register company that does NOT engage in this practice? I would like to search for my proposed domains in private and not have to necessarily register them the second I search for them. All advice appreciated!

Only unreliable companies will do that. Simply choose a well known registrar.
